Our goal to celebrate Black History Month goes beyond just honoring events of the past; it includes actively contributing to the tomorrow. This month, Governor Jay Inslee has reappointed our President, Michael Bailey, to the Washington State Commission on African American Affairs (CAAA). The commission is recognized as a state agency and reports directly to the governor. CAAA is tasked with advising the Governor, Washington state legislature, and state agencies on policies, laws, programs impacting the African American population throughout Washington State. Michael will continue to chair the economic mobility committee on the commission.
